OVERVIEW
A leading provider of mobile device protection and embedded insurance solutions, is seeking an experienced and high-impact Country General Manager to drive market expansion, strategic partnerships, and commercial growth. This role will serve as the primary leader for business in Sri Lanka, responsible for revenue performance, partnership development, operational excellence, and strengthening the footprint across Fintechs, Marketplaces, Telecoms, and Mobile Retail.
The ideal candidate is a proven commercial leader with deep expertise in business development, strategic partnerships, and P&L ownership, preferably within Retail, Telco, Insurance, or Mobile Electronics ecosystems. This role requires exceptional relationship management capabilities, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Lead country strategy, driving revenue, market penetration, and overall business performance.
- Identify new growth avenues and steer the business to capture high-value commercial opportunities.
- Shape go-to-market plans to strengthen leadership in device protection and embedded insurance solutions.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Build and scale strategic partnerships with Fintechs, Digital Marketplaces, Telecom Operators, Device Manufacturers, and Mobile Retail Chains.
- Lead end-to-end partner acquisition—including outreach, solution design, negotiations, and long-term contract execution.
- Maintain strong C-level relationships and ensure business becomes the preferred device protection partner.
Sales Leadership
- Drive the sales engine—developing aggressive sales plans, managing pipelines, and ensuring consistent deal conversion.
- Guide the sales team to meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Ensure optimal performance through disciplined forecasting, funnel tracking, and partner engagement.
Market Intelligence & Compliance
- Monitor market shifts, competitor moves, and emerging technology trends to refine strategy and stay ahead.
- Ensure all partnerships and solutions adhere to regulatory standards related to mobile insurance and device protection.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial and partnership team.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop a future leadership pipeline to support long-term organizational growth.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Own the country P&L and deliver accurate reporting to regional and global leadership.
- Track KPIs across sales, partner performance, and operational delivery to ensure business objectives are met.
- Use data-driven insights to optimize commercial outcomes and refine strategy.
Client & Partner Excellence
- Champion a customer- and partner-first mindset across all touchpoints.
- Ensure every partner relationship delivers tangible value and a seamless experience for end customers.
- Represent the company in high-level strategic meetings, industry events, and key partner engagements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master/Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, or business development, preferably with P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated success in building partnerships with Retail Chains, Marketplaces, Telecoms, or Mobile/Consumer Electronics sectors.
- Experience in device insurance, embedded insurance, or mobile industry services is highly preferred.
- Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Strong strategic thinking paired with a hands-on, execution-driven approach
