About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Channel & Retail Promotions on behalf of our client, to lead their efforts in managing retail promotions, driving customer acquisition through B2C channels, and optimizing the performance of their promotional activities across various touchpoints. The role requires a strategic visionary with expertise in retail marketing, channel partnerships, and team leadership, ensuring the company’s brand and product reach is maximized. The ideal candidate will bring an innovative approach to promotions and work cross-functionally to drive measurable growth.

About the Company

Our client is a UAE-based enterprise offering device protection plans for digital devices with a local office in Sri Lanka. Their focus is on providing repair services in emerging markets including Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Mongolia, and Myanmar, where they manage a network of authorized service centers for brands like Apple, Xiaomi, Infinix, and Tecno. They are the only player with a service network across multiple emerging market geographies.

The client is dedicated to offering comprehensive solutions for safeguarding digital devices. Their mission is to ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience for customers by providing top-notch device protection plans and efficient repair services through a network of trusted service partners in Emerging Asia. They also employ an advanced online service platform to register devices, log service requests, and track repair progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership & Vision:
    1. Lead and own the development of channel and retail promotional strategies that align with the company’s broader business objectives.
    2. Create and maintain a clear roadmap for short-term and long-term promotional activities to drive revenue and customer acquisition.
    3. Define KPIs and success metrics for all promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    4. Establish a vision for the future of retail promotions, setting the pace for innovation and adaptation in the marketplace.
  1. Channel & Retail Promotions Management:
    1. Design and execute a wide range of retail and channel promotions that are engaging, creative, and aligned with our brand values.
    2. Coordinate the planning, development, and execution of in-store and digital promotions to enhance customer experience and increase conversions.
    3. Oversee the management of retail promotional calendars, ensuring timely and effective delivery of campaigns.
    4. Develop engaging promotional content and creative assets tailored for different retail environments.
  1. B2C Acquisition & Customer Engagement:
    1. Lead initiatives to drive B2C customer acquisition, expanding the company’s customer base and ensuring repeat business through strategic promotions.
    2. Identify and develop new retail and channel opportunities, including pop-up stores, special offers, or exclusive in-store experiences that capture consumer attention.
    3. Build and manage campaigns that promote customer engagement and loyalty, with a focus on conversion optimization and increasing average order value.
    4. Continuously analyze customer behavior, market trends, and competitor activities to refine promotional strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  1. Team Leadership & Development:
    1. Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of promoters, account managers, and marketing professionals.
    2. Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages innovative thinking, high performance, and cross-functional teamwork.
    3. Provide continuous training and development opportunities to ensure the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to execute successful promotions.
    4. Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure targets are being met.
  1. Retail & Channel Partner Relations:
    1. Establish and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key retail partners and third-party vendors to optimize promotional opportunities and sales performance.
    2. Negotiate terms with partners to ensure favorable conditions for promotional campaigns and product visibility.
    3. Act as the primary liaison between the company and retail partners, ensuring all promotions and marketing materials are effectively communicated and implemented.
    4. Drive joint marketing initiatives with key accounts to enhance brand visibility and consumer interest in both physical and online retail spaces.
  1. Data-Driven Decision Making & Campaign Analysis:
    1. Utilize data and analytics tools to track the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and make data-driven adjustments.
    2. Monitor campaign performance in real-time, providing actionable insights to adjust promotional strategies for maximum impact.
    3. Conduct post-campaign analysis to assess the ROI, gather customer feedback, and implement best practices for future campaigns.
    4. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on the performance and impact of promotional strategies.
  1. Budget & Resource Allocation:
    1. Own and manage the budget for all channel and retail promotional activities, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
    2. Forecast spending requirements and allocate resources efficiently across various campaigns and retail partnerships.
    3. Work closely with the finance team to track campaign budgets, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    1. Collaborate with the Sales, Product, and Digital Marketing teams to ensure promotional activities are fully integrated with overall company strategies and product launches.
    2. Work with the product development and merchandising teams to tailor promotional strategies to specific products and market needs.
    3. Ensure that marketing teams support the promotion by creating relevant content, including online campaigns, email marketing, and social media efforts.
    4. Provide feedback to the product and sales teams on market response and customer sentiment to inform future product development and go-to-market strategies.
  1. Technology Integration & Innovation:
    1. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate into the promotional strategy.
    2. Leverage technology platforms, such as CRM and marketing automation tools, to streamline promotional activities and enhance customer personalization.
    3. Drive innovation in how promotions are executed across digital channels, including e-commerce, mobile apps, and other online retail platforms.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA or

equivalent is a plus).

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in retail promotions, channel marketing, B2C customer acquisition, and managing high-performing teams.
    • Proven track record of developing and executing successful retail promotions and managing relationships with key retail and channel partners.
    • Strong experience in managing budgets, analyzing data, and optimizing promotional spend.
    • Previous experience leading a team of account managers and promoters, with an emphasis on achieving KPIs and delivering results.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate teams and partners.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
